FSM History

Navy military government gave way to civil administrators: Willis Mooney (Ponape), Harold Huxley (Truk), Roland Kenney (Yap).

What happened

In September 1947, two months after the trusteeship began, the Navy officers who had run military government units were replaced by civil administrators in each district. The territory was still run by the Navy until 1951.
