The territory’s teacher-training school (MITTS, later PICS) opened on Guam to train Micronesian teachers.

What happened

The Mariana Islands Teacher Training School was a normal school for the whole Trust Territory, set up to train Micronesian teachers. It moved to Chuuk the next year and became the Pacific Islands Central School, the territory’s only public senior high school for years.
