Kusaie’s Joab Sigrah went to Saipan on the Council of Micronesia subcommittee drafting a charter for a Micronesian legislature.

What happened

The subcommittee’s job, Sigrah explained, was to help draft a proposed charter for a future legislature for all of Micronesia, to be presented to the Council that month.

Why it matters

The work fed into the Congress of Micronesia, created in 1964.
