Pohnpeian interviews and songs were recorded; the tapes are now in the Smithsonian NAA, collection NAA.2013-16.

What happened

The tape belongs to the papers of anthropologists John L. and Ann K. Fischer, who did research on Pohnpei and in Japan. The catalog lists dated Pohnpeian-language segments, including place names, but does not say whether they include songs; access is by appointment.
