What happened

Members’ terms begin at noon on 11 May after each election. Because 2025 was a midterm, Congress did not choose a new president; it named a committee to wait on the sitting president. Julio Marar of Chuuk replaced Quincy Lawrence, who had lost his seat, as Floor Leader.
