First Kitti Memorial Day honors the 179 Kitti men sent to Kosrae during WWII.

What happened

Simina attended at the invitation of the Luhkenmoanlap of Kitti, with traditional leaders and the families of those remembered. He said the histories of Pohnpei, Kosrae and the other states are intertwined and quoted the FSM Constitution: “Having known war, we hope for peace.” The government release does not say why the men were sent or what happened to them.
