French ship Danaïde surveys Pohnpei for ten days.
What happened
The French corvette Danaïde, under J. de Rosamel, was surveying Pacific islands. Louis Corgat, a man from the Seychelles who had lived on Pohnpei for some time, helped the French; Rosamel’s report describes ship traffic to Pohnpei, its trade goods and the introduction of new animals and plants.
