What happened

John Westwood had been brought to Lukunor by the Agnes Donald in 1877 and traded copra there for almost six years. The Mazeppa, of the Auckland firm Henderson & MacFarlane, which had earlier dropped traders on Satawan and Namoluk, took him off.
