The mission moves to Maap, where the church of San José is built at Toruw.

What happened

Fr. Luis de León and Br. Antolín de Orihuela staffed the new station at Toruw on Maap, which became one of Yap’s four main mission stations with Santa Cristina, Guror and Santa Cruz. MicSem’s article on the Spanish Capuchins instead dates the dedication of St. Joseph’s church on Maap to 1893.
