Spanish Capuchins Luis de León and Vicente de Larrasoaña are transferred from Yap to Guam.
What happened
After Germany took over, the Spanish Capuchins on Yap lost government backing and their schools and churches emptied. Guam, now American and without priests, offered more useful work, so several friars were sent there; by 1903 only seven Capuchins remained on Yap.
