What happened

Pohnpei had no radio, so the news had to wait more than five weeks for the next scheduled Jaluit Company steamer, which carried it to the governor at Rabaul. It reached Berlin around Christmas 1910. Meanwhile the Germans in Kolonia lived under siege for about 40 days.
