A Ponape branch weather observatory is established.

What happened

The South Seas observatory at Koror opened in 1922 and later set up branch stations on Saipan, Ponape, Truk, Jaluit and Yap. Besides daily weather, the stations studied upper-air conditions, ocean weather, earth magnetism and earthquakes.
