The Ponape garrison signs the surrender.
What happened
Pohnpei surrendered separately, nine days after Truk. Japanese Wikipedia says 116 army and 190 navy men of the garrison had died in the war, and about 5,175 army and 1,810 navy men remained to be sent home, which was done by early January 1946.
