The UN Secretariat circulated plans for a 1953 Visiting Mission, with “Pacific Islands” scheduled for about 18 Feb – 7 Mar.

What happened

UN visiting missions toured the Pacific trust territories periodically to report to the Trusteeship Council. The Secretariat noted proposals to send two separate missions of four members every three years, and to visit fewer territories per mission for longer.
