High Commissioner’s Directive 70-2 renamed the teacher center the Community College of Micronesia (CCM).
What happened
The renaming let the center offer a college curriculum in its own name. From 1971 the Trust Territory Department of Education took more responsibility, and the University of Hawaii’s role ended in 1973. CCM remained mainly a teachers’ college until 1974.
