Yap’s Petrus Tun served as one of six vice presidents of the Constitutional Convention.

What happened

Tun was one of Yap’s six delegates and chaired the Committee on General Provisions. After several traditional leaders walked out, Tun, himself a chief, explained that the power of Yapese chiefs did not depend on laws or offices in the national government.
