A Congress act merged CCM, the Palau occupational center and the Saipan nursing school into the College of Micronesia public corporation.

What happened

The new College of Micronesia was a public corporation run by a Board of Regents, serving the whole territory. After the territory split, the FSM made its own campus a separate national college in 1993.
