COM-FSM becomes independent of the three-country College of Micronesia system.

What happened

The College of Micronesia had served the FSM, Palau and the Marshall Islands together. After becoming a public corporation in 1992, COM-FSM became a separate national college in 1993 and moved its national campus from Kolonia to Palikir in 1996.
