Mori sends Chuuk and Kosrae advance notice that a national–state MOU will end.

What happened

Under agreements signed in April 2007, the national government had managed Chuuk’s and Kosrae’s discretionary funds and the paperwork for US federal grants, to help the two states through money troubles. After nearly five years, Mori judged that both states could again run their own grants and gave the required six months’ notice.
