What happened

Adopted in Kigali, Rwanda, the amendment requires all countries to phase down HFCs, gases used in cooling that warm the climate. The UN says this could avoid up to 0.5°C of warming by 2100. The FSM appears second in the UN’s list of ratifying countries.
