Chuuk declares an emergency (12 Apr) and the President’s Sinlaku emergency declaration follows (13 Apr).
What happened
After the declarations the FSM asked for international help. The national government set aside $2 million for relief and early recovery and Chuuk State $200,000. Congress later extended the emergency to 16 September 2026.
