FSM History

Awane Sru II begins a reign (1835–1837) remembered as usurping and brutal toward Europeans.

What happened

The COM-FSM outline, based on an unsourced typescript by Walter Scott Wilson, calls Awane Sru II a usurper and describes him as “brutal, inconsiderate, and unfriendly to Europeans.” The two 1835 attacks on visiting ships, one of them at Lelu, took place during his reign.
