Maigret raises a sixteen-foot cross on Pohnpei.
What happened
Maigret’s diary records that he made the sixteen-foot cross on 1 May and raised it on 3 May, though it was “not all I could wish it to be.” He had won no converts; in January he had noted an old man fleeing when Maigret spoke to him about death and the afterlife.
