The missionary packet Morning Star makes its first voyage to Micronesia.

What happened

The Morning Star was the American Board mission’s own ship, carrying missionaries and supplies around Micronesia. On this first voyage it found two white men and some Rotuman islanders in conflict with Kosrae’s chief, and the missionaries offered to mediate; at Pohnpei it visited the harbors of Sokehs, Kitti and Madolenihmw.
