FSM History

The new Capuchin residence in the colony is completed.

What happened

The Capuchins had lost all their possessions in the 1887 uprising and claimed 2,500 pesos in damages. Building materials arrived only in late September 1888; with a couple of carpenters and a detachment of soldiers they built a wooden residence with a zinc roof.
