FSM History

A notice fixes the boundary between the Yap and Ponape districts at 148° East.

What happened

The 148th meridian divided German Micronesia into two districts: Ponape, covering the Eastern Carolines, and Yap, covering the Western Carolines, Palau and the Marianas. Both answered to the government of German New Guinea. The notice is known only through a Wikipedia mirror citing the colonial gazette.
