The Ponape district court takes jurisdiction over white residents only.

What happened

No professional judge was stationed on Pohnpei; the district officer also served as district judge, under a higher court in Rabaul. From 1901 that court dealt only with white residents. Islanders came before the district officer acting as judge, unless chiefs’ own courts handled the case.
