The Kosrae church becomes independent.

What happened

The COM-FSM history of Etawi says that when the Kosrae church became independent in 1905, the village Etawi services also officially separated. By then the church had long been central to Kosraean public life; in 1869 a council of seven commoners had been set up under missionary influence.
