St. Fidelis church on Takaiu is dedicated.

What happened

In the months after the April 1905 typhoon, the people of Takaiu, apparently inspired by the rebuilding at nearby Awak, built their own chapel, and 50 people came forward for baptism lessons. The island became a mission sub-station.
