What happened
Georg Fritz was removed from Pohnpei while on leave in 1909 and put in charge of the enlarged Western Carolines and Saipan district at Yap. He took the transfer as a criticism and retired in late 1910, citing his health. The list of Yap officers comes from a Wikipedia mirror.
