Aged paramount chief “Tokoscha” dies; the outline separately dates Awane Na’s (Palikna, John) reign from 1910. Equating Tokoscha with Sa II is unverified.

What happened

The 1920 German colonial encyclopedia notes that the aged paramount chief Tokoscha, who died in September 1910, “gave abundant information” on Kosraean tradition. By then Kosrae’s old system of titled chiefs had shrunk to a single chief. Whether Tokoscha is the same person as the Awane Sa II of the Kosrae outline has not been verified.
