What happened

Madolenihmw had long been strongly anti-Catholic; two of its chiefs had lost their titles and land for converting. In 1910 the mission bought at auction 100 hectares at Tamworoi that had belonged to Hollborn, a German overseer killed in the uprising. The Madolenihmw chiefs at first refused to let the mission use the land but eventually gave way.
