FSM History

Chuuk mission schools grow from 200 pupils early in the year to about 300 by year’s end.

What happened

The mission school on Toloas even held afternoon classes for Chuukese policemen working for the German administration. In October 1915 the Japanese authorities banned teaching in German, and all the mission schools had to close.
