Japan begins letting the Sokehs exiles return from Palau.

What happened

The Sokehs people had been exiled to Palau by Germany in 1911. Wikipedia says Japan began a limited return in 1917 and completed it by 1927; no Japanese record of the return has been found. The German archive says the exiles came home under Japanese rule “as strangers in their own homeland,” since their land had been given to others.
