A Japanese school on Yap and a native public school at Maki are founded.
What happened
Japanese and islander children went to separate schools under Japanese rule. Maki, the new islander public school, also took pupils from Ulithi and other outer islands, who lodged with Yapese families until the burden of feeding them led to fewer admissions by 1934. The school dates come from Japanese Wikipedia.
