Kosrae constitutional referendum passes with 74 percent.

What happened

Voters approved the constitution written by Kosrae’s January–April 1983 convention, which replaced the charter given by the old Congress of Micronesia. It took effect on 11 January 1984, making Kosrae the second state, after Yap, to govern under its own constitution.
