UN Trusteeship Council approves the FSM’s new status.

What happened

The Trusteeship Council supervised the UN trust territories. Its approval was a step toward ending the trusteeship, but the UN Security Council’s vote was delayed, and the Council formally ended the FSM trusteeship only in December 1990.
