What happened
Nena, born in Lelu in 1941, had been Kosrae’s first elected governor in 1979 and vice president since 1991. He was sworn in at Palikir when Olter’s 180 days to declare himself fit to return ran out, and he became the only Kosraean so far to serve as president.
