What happened

Mori won the 26 October special election with 8,118 of 22,236 votes, a plurality in a four-way race. The seat had opened when Jack Fritz resigned; the release does not say why.

Why it matters

This at-large seat made Mori eligible for the presidency, which Congress gave him in 2007.
