FSM History

General election for all 14 seats. A constitutional convention call passes; four-year terms and dual citizenship fail. The two women candidates, both in Chuuk, lose.

What happened

Four-year terms got 59% and dual citizenship 66%, but neither reached 75% in any state. The convention question needed only a national majority and passed, yet no convention was elected after it. Anna Asauo Wengu ran against President Mori and Augustina Takashy against Floor Leader Joe Suka, the first women to run for Congress.
