Locally acquired Zika transmission reported on Kosrae (ECDC update of 31 Mar 2016).

What happened

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control listed Kosrae as having sporadic local transmission at the end of March 2016. The FSM had seen Zika before: Yap’s 2007 outbreak was the first ever found outside Africa and Asia.
