Cheyne’s Starling takes on firewood at Satawal.

What happened

The British trader Andrew Cheyne’s schooner Starling stopped for firewood before sailing east; in July it was collecting bêche-de-mer in the Mortlocks. Cheyne had been trading for bêche-de-mer across the Carolines since 1843.
