FSM History

The new Guror church is dedicated to San Francisco.

What happened

Guror, at Yap’s southern tip, became the most important Capuchin station outside the colony of Santa Cristina. Its first church was a small temporary building at the water’s edge; the Capuchins soon built a two-story residence and a church of imported lumber and corrugated iron, with a school of up to 17 pupils.
