The San Quintín returns with new governor Luis Cadarso; three warships restore Spanish control.
What happened
The relief fleet, three warships in MicSem’s account and four ships in Cabello’s (San Quintín, Manila, Cebú and General Lezo), came to make “a show of force” and restore the colony. A Spanish Navy biography dates the relief to 1 September 1887, which Spanish-language research suggests confuses it with the expedition of 1 September 1890.
