Spain declares Ponapé pacified after a 30 September surrender deadline.
What happened
Only a Spanish Navy biography reports this: it says the interim governor, Juan de la Concha, set a surrender deadline of 30 September and declared Ponapé pacified on 1 January 1888. The same biography dates the relief force to 1 September 1887, a date other Spanish research assigns to the 1890 expedition, so its timeline should be used with caution.
