The Guror church is rebuilt and a cross raised over the Matsebap cult site.

What happened

The new Guror church was built at Machbob on the ruins of a temple to the spirit Gopin, where the fertility cult of 1889 had been held, and hundreds attended its dedication. MicSem says the cult’s followers then abandoned the site, and the mission acquired a large piece of land for a small fee.
