Five more Capuchins arrive from Spain.
What happened
The five newcomers were two priests and three brothers, and three more Capuchins were sent straight on to Palau. By the end of the decade 20 Capuchins worked in the western Carolines, five of them in Palau, which allowed Fr. Daniel to visit the outer islands in 1898.
