Four Jesuits, including Frs Luis Herrera and Pedro Castro, disembark on Ponape.
What happened
The four were part of a group of 22 Spanish Jesuits led by Fr. Santiago López de Rego, sent after Japan asked the Vatican for missionaries from a neutral country. The ship dropped groups at Tonoas, Yap and Palau before continuing to Ponape. MicSem dates the Jesuit return to 1922.
